Sir,

In a Letter to the Editor of Human Reproduction Update, te Velde and colleagues are discussing a number of issues related to a review we have published (Ziebe and Devroey, 2008Go) in relation to their recent publication (Habbema et al., 2009Go). We are a little puzzled by the fact that the authors are not addressing this in their paper, but rather here.

The center of their concern is the definition of infertility as ‘Failure to conceive after at least one year of unprotected coitus’ used in our paper.
