The images on the front cover show mouse blastocysts in culture with comparative levels of outgrowth (none left; some middle; more extensive right). This was used as an indicator of trophoblast motility in studies of amino-acid regulation of blastocyst development and implantation. See System B0,+ amino acid transport regulates the penetration stage of blastocyst implantation with possible long-term developmental consequences through adulthood, pages 145–157.
